South Sudan

St Peter’s has had a long term commitment to South Sudan. Anglican International Development works closely with local churches to develop healthcare, sanitation, agriculture and microfinance, as well as seeking to strengthen the churches themselves. We are currently supporting a project to train healthcare workers, and we are also funding the training of a pastor for the South Sudanese church.

MAF

The vision of the Mission Aviation Fellowship is to see ‘isolated people physically and spiritually transformed in Christ’s name’. For over 70 years, MAF has been flying light aircraft over jungles, mountains, swamps and deserts to enable over 2,000 other aid, development and mission organisations to bring medical care, emergency relief, long-term development and Christian hope to remote communities.

Kenya

Kip’ Chelashaw is originally from Kenya but having spent half his life in the UK, he felt called to return to Nairobi. In 2017, he and Rachel moved to Nairobi together with their 4 children (Elijah, Ezra, Susanna and Bethany) to lead a church plant there in a rapidly expanding suburb – a bit like the Carlton estate!

Barnabas Fund

Barnabas Fund seeks to stand alongside our Christian brothers and sisters where they suffer discrimination and persecution around the world, by providing aid through partners on the ground, encouraging prayer, telling their untold story and speaking out on their behalf.

The Joy
Foundation

The Joy Foundation is a local charity witnessing to the love of God in our local schools. As well as providing some financial support, members of the congregation are also involved as volunteers.

Food in School Holidays

Our FISH Project runs in three local schools seeking to show the love of Christ to local families by providing food in school holidays to those who would normally receive free school meals in term time. We sponsor free vouchers that can be used in local shops in exchange for food.

Lincoln Community Larder

We have a long standing link with our local food bank based at St Giles Methodist Church. We love to support them with gifts of food, especially around harvest time when we help stock up the larder for the winter.

Active Faith Network

We are part of a network of Churches and Christian-rooted organisations in and around the City of Lincoln seeking to be an active force that is tackling areas of poverty and need.
